What this is.
A practice tool and reading library for the gaokao — 高考, China's national college entrance exam. Six subjects, 1190 multiple-choice practice questions in the shape of real gaokao items, and 50 articles on strategy, exam mechanics, subject deep-dives, and the year around the exam.
This is Gaokao (CN) — the original. There are also Gaokao (EN) and Gaokao (FR), the English and French editions of International Gaokao, adaptations for people who want to sit the gaokao in a language other than Chinese. All editions keep the format, weighting, and pace of the real exam; only the content is shifted.
The questions are original — written in the format and register of gaokao questions, but not copied from any actual paper. Weighting (150 points for each core subject, 100/90 for electives) and per-subject durations mirror the current national papers. Explanations follow every question in plain language.
There is no account and no server-side profile. Best scores are saved in your own browser only, so switching devices or clearing site data starts you at zero.
Everything is free. There are no ads. If a subject is missing, an answer is wrong, or an article got something wrong, the site's author reads issues.
This is a study aid, not the exam itself. Real gaokao papers, cutoffs (分数线), and application procedures (志愿填报) are set by provincial exam authorities — always cross-reference with your school and the official 招生考试院.
